3.0 out of 5 stars Great sound but falls apart, August 18, 2012
This review is from: Beats Studio™ Over-Ear Headphone (Black) (Electronics)
These things sound great but they are cheaply made. Mine is covered in black electrical tape to just hold it together which isn't really cool considering how much they cost.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome headphones for the right person, August 12, 2012
This review is from: Beats Studio™ Over-Ear Headphone (Black) (Electronics)
Pros:
Comfortable oval shaped cups
Great sound quality
Lightweight
Replaceable cables
Mute button

Cons:
Made out of cheap material that can be broken easily
Run on batteries (However i don't find this an inconvenience)
Only for people who listen to electronics, hip hop, anything with heavy bass.
Approx. $300

I've had these for a couple of months now and let me say that these are great to listen to dub-step, and really any kind of techno through. If you're a person that develops dub-step, or anything with heavy bass then these are perfect. HOWEVER these are not for listening to things like metal, blues, rock and roll and things like that because they have a low mid-range. These are extremely comfortable and lightweight and i can use them for hours at a time without any pain. The batteries last for about two weeks but that's because i use them around 8 hours a day. Its also really nice to have a replaceable cord so if... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Not quite "as advertised", August 24, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
The "Studio" and "Over the Ear" terms implied that they would be good for recording tracks in a studio and isolating sound, but they're definitely not intended for that.
If someone's using them, you can clearly hear what they're listening to because there's a LOT of sound leak. Oddly, pushing them against your head somehow makes the sound leak worse.
And unless you've got the music blasting, you can hear what's going on around you pretty well, so the sound isolation is not so great either.
If you're using them to record vocals, or in any environment where you don't want everyone else to hear what you're hearing, then they're absolutely not what you're looking for at all.
If it wasn't for the beefy price tag, I'd say these would be decent headphones for general use.
If you're looking for a "professional" pair of "studio" headphones, these definitely aren't it.
