4.0 out of 5 stars GaGa gave me heartbeats..., December 9, 2009

Usually, I am not one for artist-endorsed products, but the GaGa Monster Heartbeats in-ear headphones looked so fab from pictures that I decided to check them out in real. For starters, the box looked really stylish and the headphones are placed in yet another black box which is magnetically latched. Once opened, you will see the bright chrome and white cables with the matching protective pouch. Once taken out, the headphones feel sturdy and the cables are truly tangle-free and every bit the trademark of Monster cables.

Now, beauty aside. The sound is amazing and it should be for it costs almost US$170 here than in the US. Once I picked the ear buds of the correct size, everything else is secondary. I connected the earphones to my iPhone and there was so much clarity and bass pumping from them at even 3/4 of the volume slider. I could hear almost all the background instrumentation and effects. More importantly, all surrounding ambient noise is cut off almost entirely... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Alternative to Dr.Dre's Beats, December 15, 2009

So I just got my Bright Chrome Heartbeats yesterday. I originally wanted the Dr. Dre Beats headphones when they first came out but they were out of my price range. Being a fan of Lady Gaga and liking to look fashionable while listening to music I had to get these. Plus the price was in my budget! I must say I'm quite impressed. They come very nicely packaged with a fashionable looking case to keep them protected. The look of the headphones are very nice and I am loving the tangle free cords. I will say at first listen I wasn't blown away by the sound. You have to make sure if you're using them with an ipod, iphone, itouch or whatever "i" device you own that you change the settings to "sound check On", and make sure you have the best fit in your ear for the ear buds. It comes with 4 or 5 different sizes and I never was a fan of the kinds that stick in your ear, but these are the first that fit me comfortably and actually stay in my ears. After I made these adjustments it was... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty disappointing for a true Gaga fan, November 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I was looking to burn some birthday money and wanted to splurge on a pair of nice earbuds. Living in the city, I need the musical distraction for bus and subway rides, and to tune out annoying coworkers in a very crowded work environment. I initially wanted a pair of Beats, so I looked at their site and was thrilled to find the Heartbeats, as I am a huge Lady Gaga fan. I ordered a pair thinking I had ordered the "control talk" model, which I accidentally did not. Even then, I wanted to give them a chance and maybe keep them if they worked well. They were very disappointing. The sound quality is not as revolutionary compared to my $35 pair of Sony earbuds, and people are right - they DON'T STAY IN YOUR EAR, not even when I decided to buy the Comply foam ear inserts as some people had recommended. The ear inserts have nothing to do with how they don't fit; it's the design, sadly. The cute decorative pyramids that you see are also heavy, so they are constantly tipping back out of... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, fantastic sound, but I can't use it, April 27, 2011

This review is from: Monster Turbine PRO High-Performance In-Ear Speakers (Copper) (Electronics)
The Monster Turbine Pro Copper (MTPC, or just Copper, below) is, without a doubt, the *BEST* *SOUNDING* *HEADPHONE* I have ever used, and I've used a lot... couple of specific points.

Bass response. I love organ music - and organ music sometimes has deep bass that (almost) no other recorded music approaches. For example, on some of the recordings of the Saint-Sans 3rd Symphony (the "Organ Symphony") there are fundamental tones as low as 16Hz. No home speaker system will reproduce these accurately at reasonable volume without a subwoofer - at least, none that I know of. You might get a "doubling" of the fundamental tone (2nd harmonic) at a fairly high level at 32Hz, and think you're hearing the right note, but you're not. In fact, you can't really "hear" it - you more or less "feel" it. My Sennheiser HD600 headphones can hint fairly strongly at the deepest notes, but you're not going to feel like you're in a concert hall with a massive organ moving enough air to lift... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Good Sound, BAD build quality, Pathetic service, June 1, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Monster Turbine PRO High-Performance In-Ear Speakers (Copper) (Electronics)
Let me start of by saying that these earphones do sound really good but only when they actually work and I have now twice had horrific experiences with their build quality and customer service. I bought these with a lot of excitement and after doing a lot of research I was convinced that these had fantastic sound quality and exceptional build materials backed with a lifetime guarantee.

When I first received them, the headphones started falling apart after the first two weeks. Initially one of the earphones would only output a very very low volume while the other was fine and soon after that both earphones started to break apart at the cable joint. I called customer support and they asked me to ship in the earphones for replacement within 3 weeks. I did and then for more than 3 months went through torture as Monster refused to provide me with any estimated time for resolution. I live in Australia so calling customer support means staying up till 2 am on a week night. I had... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Always wanted to try these and got my chance!, May 23, 2011
This review is from: Monster Turbine PRO High-Performance In-Ear Speakers (Copper) (Electronics)
I received the Pro Turbine Copper In-Ear-Monitors as a generous "sample pair" in the recent MONSTER CHALLENGE by my own request...in exchange for an honest review. I had always wanted to hear them and so I jumped at the chance to put them through the paces. I feel incredibly lucky that I have been able to listen to and even own some incredible high-end gear, all within about a year and a couple of months of using Apple iBuds! There's a lot to learn about and enjoy in this hobby (audio, music, gear). One of the things that I'm most thankful for is knowing that I'll never be going back to "bad" sound again...

As for earphones, I have had all of the Yuin PK Series earbuds, the HiFiMan RE-0's, Sennheiser IE8's, and have settled on the Ultimate Ears Triple-Fi 10's and the Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors.

For Large Headphones, I have settled on the Grado RS2i, the Grado HF-2, the Alessandro MS1 (being modified), and the Sennheiser HD600.

I did... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good, August 22, 2011
By
Soundcraft (Barranquilla, Colombia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Monster Lil' Jamz Headphones with ControlTalk (Electronics)
I Bought this set after loosing one earpiece of my Ultimate Ears Triple fi 10 in an airport. I was so mad at myself that i said i was going to use only cheap 5 dollar earphones. Truth is y tried to do it, but as Monster says, LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO LISTEN TO BAD HEADPHONES. two days ago on an international business travel i ran into these little buds and remembered the comments about the MONSTER earphones in general made to me by a very gifted and picky musician friend of mine and i decided to give them a try. Oh what a surprise when i got them on properly, sound is very good, or i should say VERY GOOD, close to pretty great.

Actually i have liked these so much that i decided to go for a higher value Monster model like the Copper or Gold or the Miles Davis signature, but for sure I'll stick to the brand.

For the record, i have owned or do own currently the following:
SURE SCL5
KLIPSCH Custom 3
ULTIMATE EARS Tripe 10
SHURE SRH 440
SONY MDR... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice portable version of my Turbines, April 20, 2011
By

This review is from: Monster Lil' Jamz Headphones with ControlTalk (Electronics)
I purchased these to be a work/sporting event headset. I have the Monster Turbines, but wanted something a little lighter weight for work. The headphones have great sound, nice rich bass and clear upper range. The ControlTalk works perfectly; nice to be able to pause/resume the music when someone at work floats into my visual range. The ear pieces fit well and do block out enough sound for me to get lost in the music. I like the gunmetal finish, it looks expensive without being showy or too bright like chrome.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great BUY!, December 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Monster Lil' Jamz Headphones with ControlTalk (Electronics)
I've owned many headphones before and typically spend most of my day enjoying music. Of course, headphones are a necessity with this lifestyle and as a result I am constantly checking out what's best and new. These headphones may not be Beats, but they still sound great and in fact a lot better than the ibeats and other in-ear beats products. The bass is powerful but not overwhelming. It is clear and produces a rich sound. I really enjoy these headphones because deliver clear sounds at all levels that I played them at. Additionally, the mids and highs sound rich and clear. I was disappointed the first time I opened them so a quick advice is to not base your interpretation from the first listen. The first listen sounded awful, for both my original pair that had some scratches and the replacement. I was quickly disappointed BUT within 5 minutes, the sound had me going crazy. I also suggest you to try out the different tip sizes to make sure that you get the perfect fit which basically... Read more
